For Community Health Representatives, Community Health Workers, Nurses
In a culturally sensitive way the three day workshop will:
• Introduce a framework for supporting pregnant women and women in childbearing years, on substance use and related health and social concerns;
• Share information on “best practices” and resources, to support women with substance use concerns, before, during, and after pregnancy:
• Participants will learn how to begin the discussion with women about alcohol, tobacco and other substances in pregnancy using collaborative motivational approaches and identify teaching strategies which participants can use, when training others on this material.
• Offer teaching strategies that participants can adapt and share in their own communities.
